Trainings for police officers in 2018
The first round of trainings for police officers in the field of nature conservation regulations was completed in 2018. A total of 285 police officers from the crime prevention units and criminal investigation divisions took part in the trainings. The trainings were organized as part of the project LIFE You have right to effective protection of nature in cooperation with The National Police Headquarters and police schools, National Revenue Administration, national parks in Poland and regional directorates for environmental protection.
The General Directorate for Environmental Protection conducted 10 two-day trainings for the police officers from all over Poland, which took place from 2 October 2018 to 16 November 2018. The main objective of the trainings was to provide basic knowledge on nature conservation and to facilitate law enforcement in the field of nature conservation. The trainings were organized as a workshops to enable police officers to exchange their professional experience and establish working contacts with representatives of local institutions involved in nature conservation. During the trainings the police officers had the opportunity to visit Bieszczady National Park and Tatra National Park. During all trainings, representatives of nearby polish national parks were sharing with participants their experiences regarding wildlife conservation and difficulties with effective enforcement of law.
The General Directorate for Environmental Protection conducted the trainings in 2018 on the following dates:
- 2-3 October 2018 – training in Bieszczady National Park
- 4-5 October 2018 – training in Tatra National Park
- 16-17 October 2018 – training in Cracow
- 18-19 October 2018 – training in Katowice
- 23-24 October 2018 – training in Zielona Gora
- 25-26 October 2018 – training in Poznan
- 29-30 October 2018 – training in Warsaw
- 6-7 November 2018 – training in Lublin
- 13-14 November 2018 – training in Olsztyn
- 15-16 November 2018 – training in Gdansk
The second round of trainings will take place in 2019. In total, more than 500 police officers will take part in both rounds of training.
