The second edition of Green internships has ended
The second of two Green internships planned for the project has just ended. Internships in the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Katowice, Kielce, Kraków, Łódź, Lublin, Olsztyn, Opole, Rzeszów, Szczecin, and Wrocław were attended by 13 trainees. In total, 26 people who worked over 12,000 hours, participated in the internships during both editions.
Trainees were recruited in their voivodeships from among students, graduates, unemployed, and people at risk of unemployment. The main goal of their work was supporting the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in activities related to environmental protection, including encouraging residents to be active in nature protection.
Before the internships started the trainees took part in a one- week training in Sękocin Stary and Czosnów. The main goal of those two pieces of the training was to offer basic knowledge in the field of nature protection, as well as to prepare trainees to work in regional directorates for environmental protection by presenting to them the competencies of nature protection authorities and the duties of rdoś employees and trainees. Among the lecturers, there were employees of General Directorate for Environmental Protection, Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk, Olsztyn, and Warsaw, General Directorate of State Forests, Police Training Center in Legionowo, Kampinos National Park and Bird Asylum. During the training, interns participated in educational visits to the Botanical Garden of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Powsin and to the Kampinos National Park.
