Training for non-governmental organizations
The General Directorate for Environmental Protection organized a training course for non- governmental organizations on 1 October 2020 in Warsaw. It was the last one of the three pieces of training planned in the project. A total of 35 people from 22 non-governmental organizations were trained during three training carried out in the project. The last training was attended by 12 representatives of polish non- governmental organizations. The training program included 8 hours of speeches.
Representatives of the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Warsaw and the General Directorate for Environmental Protection have analyzed regulations on forms of nature and species protection with a discussion of the most frequently broken bans, conditions for issuing a permit to cut down a tree, procedures when the tree is a habitat or is in a protected area. Representatives of the Warsaw Zoological Garden have shared their knowledge about first aid for wild birds and about the functioning of animal rehabilitation centres.
In addition, Municipal Police of the Capital City of Warsaw has talked on Eco Patrols competencies, mainly on the law violations in the field of nature protection and animal protection and presented examples of interventions in the field of animal rights. During the training, the role of non- governmental organizations were also discussed, based on the example of WWF.
